Rabbi Lapidus serves on the boards of several organizations: MACoM: Metro Atlanta Community Mikvah, Atlanta Rabbinical Association, Anti-Defamation League-Southeast Region, American Jewish Committee-Atlanta, Jewish Women's Fund of Atlanta, and Women's Rabbinic Network.
She was raised in Pittsburgh and after completing her undergraduate studies in science from Pennsylvania State University, she decided to pursue a career in the rabbinate. Here at The Temple, Rabbi Lapidus brings her experiences as the child of an interfaith family and the parent of young children to her work in providing opportunities for people of all backgrounds to feel more welcome and become involved in the congregation. She is married to Rabbi Micah Lapidus, who is the Director of Judaic and Hebrew Studies at The Alfred and Adele Davis Academy. They have two children, Hadara and Caleb.
Rev. Tony Sundermeier has served as the Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian since August of 2014. In his role, Tony’s ministry focuses on three specific areas: he serves as the lead preacher for Sunday worship, he moderates the Session, and he leads and equips the senior level staff of the church.
Before coming to First Pres Atlanta, he was the senior pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Eastern University (1997, B.A., Theology), Princeton Theological Seminary (2003, M.Div.), and Biblical Theological Seminary (2011, D.Min.).
He is married to Katie, who is also an ordained Presbyterian minister on the staff at First Presbyterian and they have two sons. Tony is a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan and is still celebrating their Super Bowl win!
