As president and CEO of Grady Health System, Michael Young brings more than 25 years of healthcare industry leadership to the organization, which he joined in September, 2008. He began his career at Lancaster General Hospital & Health System in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and during his tenure there, he built a new Women’s Hospital, Orthopedic Hospital, and a cutting-edge ambulatory services program. Most recently he served as president and CEO of Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, New York. He was a key player in turning around ECMC’s historical operating losses to its first-ever operating gain in 2006, a $32-million turnaround in two years. A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Young holds degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and from the Harvard Business School. He has been a fellow in the American College of Hospital Administrators since 1994 and has produced numerous CEOs under his tutelage throughout the United States. He has served on numerous boards of directors during his career, providing leadership and philanthropic support. Mr. Young and his wife are the parents of two sons.

DR. KENT M. KEITH

“SERVANT LEADERSHIP”
Dr. Kent Keith is the CEO of the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership. He has been an attorney, a state government official, a high-tech park developer, a university president, a YMCA executive, and a fulltime speaker and author. Dr. Keith holds degrees from Harvard University, Oxford University in England, the University of Hawaii, and the University of Southern California. He also earned a Certificate in Japanese from Waseda University in Japan. He is a Rhodes Scholar and has received honorary doctorates from Chaminade University of Honolulu and Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee.
Dr. Keith is known internationally as the author of the Paradoxical Commandments, which he first published in 1968 in a booklet for student leaders. During the past seven years, he has published four books related to the commandments, including “Anyway: The Paradoxical Commandments,” which became a national bestseller and was translated into seventeen languages. Over the years Dr. Keith has given more than 900 conference papers, presentations, and seminars, and has been featured in many publications. He has appeared on dozens of TV shows and more than 100 radio programs in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
