The Southern Center for International Studies
Peter White, founder and president of The Southern Center for International Studies, graduated from Fordham University and attended the Academy of International Law at The Hague and the National War College. He has over thirty years of experience in international programming and also advises a number of governors, university and state government officials, and corporations. Mr. White has traveled extensively in Asia, Europe, the former Soviet Union, the Middle East, and Africa. In 2000 he was invited by the British government to examine the peace process in Northern Ireland, where he met with the leaders and representatives of the main political and governmental agencies.
The purpose of the Center is to develop an interest in and understanding of foreign policy issues among leaders from the political, civic, business, and academic fields and the general public by providing a wide range of forums including briefings, seminars, and conferences in which world leaders and others discuss and analyze important issues and events. Participants in Center programs have included former US Secretaries of State, Defense, and Education, and heads of state or government of China, France, the United Kingdom, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Greece, and Germany.

Today we welcome members of the Consular Corps of Atlanta. This annual event has been an important part of our club for many years, and we are so pleased to have these diplomats visit with us.

THE REV. JOANNA M. ADAMS
CELEBRATION OF EASTER
Joanna Adams is a preacher, pastor, and teacher and is known for building bridges of understanding in both the community and in the church. A graduate of Columbia Theological Seminary, The Rev. Adams holds an honorary doctorate of divinity from Davidson College and was awarded an Alumni Association Medal of Honor from Emory University and Columbia’s Distinguished Service Award. A pastor in five Presbyterian churches over the past thirty years, she has served as a trustee of the Presbyterian Church Foundation, trustee of Agnes Scott College, and chair of the Board of Trustees for Columbia Theological Seminary. In 2006 she was named Georgia Woman of the Year and has been featured in Atlanta Magazine as one of the forty-five most loved Atlantans.
RABBI PETER S. BERG
CELEBRATION OF PASSOVER
Rabbi Peter Berg became the fifth Senior Rabbi of The Temple in July of 2008. A native of Ocean Township, New Jersey, he holds a degree in Education and Human Development, with a focus in human services, counseling, and Judaic Studies, from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He earned his MA in Hebrew Literature and his rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York and Jerusalem, where he was a Steinhardt Fellow. Rabbi Berg also holds a certificate in Chemical Dependency and Spiritual Counseling and is a trained Disaster, Fire, and Police chaplain. He has served congregations in New Jersey, Texas, New York, and Virginia.

Elaine P. Draeger is president and CEO of Sheltering Arms Early Education & Family Centers. She is a native of Greenville, South Carolina, and has lived in Atlanta 34 years. Her degree is in Early Childhood Education. She and her husband, Jim, live in Dacula, and she was sponsored by Donna Buchanan.
Margaret Denson Kaiser is a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the 59th District, in Fulton County. She is a native of Athens, Georgia, and has lived in Atlanta sixteen years. She is a graduate of Emory University, and she and her husband, Eric, live in Atlanta. She was sponsored by Phil Smith.
David F. Haddow is president of Haddow & Company, a real estate firm. He is a native of New York City and has lived here 38 years. David holds degrees from Emory, Georgia Tech, and Georgia State. He and his wife, Mary, live in Atlanta, and he was sponsored by John Grant.
James M. Ottley is Of Counsel to Hudnall, Cohn, Fyvolent & Shaver. He is a native Atlantan and has lived here all his life. James holds degrees from Duke University and the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Charlotte, live in Atlanta, and he was proposed by his father, John Ottley.
