Burke Garrett is a retired Army three-star general who recently swapped the battlefields of Afghanistan and Iraq for a home near Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park outside of Atlanta.  A graduate of the University of North Georgia, he served around the world at the sharp end of American national security for over three decades.  His culminating assignment was deputy commander of United States European Command where he provided leadership to address complex security challenges across Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East.  He now works with public and private sector leaders to help solve their biggest challenges.  He also advises a number of nonprofit organizations, including the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program in Atlanta.
