Stephanie Stuckey is CEO of Stuckey’s, the roadside oasis famous for its pecan log rolls.  The Company was founded by Stephanie’s grandfather, W.S. Stuckey, Sr. as a pecan stand in Eastman, Georgia in 1937 and grew into over 350 stores by the 1970’s. The company was sold in 1964 but is now back in family hands and making a comeback.

Billy Stuckey, son of the founder and former U.S. Congressman, reacquired Stuckey’s in 1985. Stephanie took over in November of 2019 and, under her leadership, Stuckey’s has purchased a pecan shelling and candy manufacturing facility in Wrens, GA, revamped their distribution operations based in Eastman, GA, acquired a healthy pecan snack company, undergone a rebranding, added four new franchised stores, expanded its B2B retail customer base, and increased online sales 550%.

Stephanie received both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia.  She has worked as a trial lawyer, elected to seven terms as a state representative, ran an environmental nonprofit law firm that settled the largest Clean Water Act case in Georgia history, served as Director of Sustainability and Resilience for the City of Atlanta, and taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia School of Law.  Stephanie’s achievements include being named one of the 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend Magazine and a graduate of Leadership Atlanta. She is active in her community, a longstanding member of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, and serves on many nonprofit boards, including the National Sierra Club Foundation, EarthShare of Georgia, and her local zoning review board.

Kiwanis Club of Atlanta Opens up Meetings - Meal Credits End Soon!
The Kiwanis Club of Atlanta weekly meetings are open for everyone to attend and we have plenty of space for those that are concerned with social distancing.  And effective September 1st, no meal credits will be issued for those of you who are either taking them toward your dues or as a donation to the foundation.  We will continue to Zoom and record the meetings as a membership benefit!  We hope to see your smiling face in person - just remember to make your RSVP by the Friday Noon prior to the Tuesday lunch meeting in order to be guaranteed a meal.  After this date, meals will only be available if there is a cancellation or if the caterer can add one on.
KCA Summer Relaxed Dress Code
It's summer and that means our club's relaxed dress code policy is in effect through September!  Sorry, this doesn't mean cut offs and flip flops, but for men, polo shirts (the club polo shirt is even better) with slacks is great and women can easily identify with Resort Casual wear.  We hope you will come to a meeting in person soon and enjoy a comfortable relaxed atmosphere at the Loudermilk Center!
