Starting from scratch, Alvin has built SKILLED Nation into a $10M national leader in the workforce and skilled scholarship space – one that functions at the intersection of business strategy, philanthropy, advocacy, and public policy. His unique background includes each of those elements. He served as a global strategy consultant, national fundraiser, and Capitol Hill staffer. He more recently served as a senior fellow at the United States Naval Academy and is a New York Timesreviewed author, sought-after public speaker, Eagle Scout, and former NCAA athlete. Alvin founded SKILLED Nation because he believes America's skilled workers deserve champions.

Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School is a Catholic learning community that educates young people of limited economic means, of any faith or creed, to become men and women for and with others. Through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, integrated with a relevant work study experience, students graduate prepared for college and life. One of their most successful endeavors is their mentorship program which pairs students with a community member who can serve as an adult guide and resource during the student's high school years. The Foundation’s mission is to provide ongoing support for organizations serving the needs of children and youth in our community. Grants will be given only to organizations within metropolitan Atlanta, and no grants are made outside the state of Georgia. Additional requirements for grant applicants include:
• Applicants must be a registered 501(C)3 organization.
• Applicants MUST have an ACTIVE member of our club on their staff or board.
