U.S. Senator David Perdue
Making Washington More Results-Oriented

David Perdue is the original outsider. When first elected in 2014, he was the only Fortune 500 CEO in Congress. He grew up in Middle Georgia, the son of two public school teachers, and paid his way through Georgia Tech by working factory and warehouse jobs. One of David’s first jobs was at a Head Start program helping kids learn how to read. He has over 40 years of business experience, leading the Reebok athletic brand and Dollar General stores, where he created thousands of jobs and helped working families make it from payday to payday. While at Dollar General, David continued his work on literacy serving as Chairman of the National Commission on Literacy and Workforce Development.

Prior to his decisive election in 2014, David had never held public office before. David and his wife Bonnie met in first grade and have been married for over 40 years. They have two sons and three grandsons. They were inspired to get involved in the political process for the first time to help change the direction of our country for their kids and grandkids. In 2016, David was an early supporter of President Donald J. Trump and Chairman of Trump’s Georgia Campaign. He continues to be one of the President's closest allies in the U.S. Senate.

As an outsider, David is a champion for term-limits, free-market economic principles, and strengthening our military. His role on the powerful Senate Armed Services, Banking, Budget, and Agriculture Committees puts him at the intersection of dealing with our national debt and global security crisis. In a relatively short period of time, David has demonstrated that he has a proven record of getting results for Georgia and he is working alongside President Trump to help lead the greatest economic turnaround in U.S. history.
